Microsoft and Yahoo have been steadily breathing Google's dust for a while now. The big Google has been king of the hill for a long time. Microsoft decided to take advantage of Yahoo's poor 4th quater performance and put in a bid to buy them out. The buyout is a nice ol' $44.6 Billion purchase for Microsoft.
